Dr. Farah is a senior Data Scientist whose work involves research related to applying theoretical data engineering and computer science knowledge to develop algorithms related to epidemiological and clinical research. This includes developing data modeling processes to create predictive modeling for tailored analysis related to epidemiological and clinical studies and development of complex databases and informatics tools in the domain of clinical and health services research. She is an engineering management specialist with expertise in data management, programming, and web development. She has extensive experience in electronic health record and administrative data manipulation, analysis, and data warehousing.
Her graduate and undergraduate education has been in the disciplines of engineering management, software engineering, biosciences and informatics. She enjoys mentoring students and sparking the joy of research in next generation scientists. Her inspiration for sharing knowledge comes from her childhood home environment where sharing education with the underserved was a valued part of life. She enjoys writing for scientific journals and reviewing papers for reputable scientific journals.
Currently, her areas of interests include exploring data preparation for fairness in artificial intelligence. She is exploring ways to develop natural language processing methods to find meaningful clinical knowledge in unstructured electronic health record data.
