Language Options:
Research Options: Research methods courses are offered as a science elective. This begins by introducing students to the scientific method and research techniques, and continues through partnerships which allow students to explore research over the summer. This is only available through departmental approval.
Advanced Study Options: Horace Mann does not offer AP courses, instead offering advanced study options of their own design in several fields.
Educational Philosophy: As members of a community that finds strength and resilience in its intellectual curiosity and diversity, our students acquire the analytical skills and intellectual range that enable them to engage with the world around them with candor, courage, and confidence. Our students are secure in the knowledge that upon graduation, the rigor of their education will have prepared them well to pursue their dreams and become leaders of character in their chosen professions.
Campus Information: Horace Mann’s main campus is a single building in the Bronx, though students are separated by division within the school. Their Connecticut campus is used for extended field trips and orienteering experiences.
Arts Programs: Horace Mann’s arts program allows students to explore the arts through both courses and extracurriculars.
Athletics: Athletics is an outgrowth of the PE program, and students who participate in a team sport do not need to take PE.
Clubs: There are numerous student clubs and publications to get involved with at the school.
